2026 World Cup Host Cities — 16 Stadiums Across 3 Nations
Published June 14, 2026 · 4 min read
For the first time in history, the World Cup is hosted by three nations: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Matches will be played across 16 stadiums in 16 cities, spanning 4 time zones and over 4,000 kilometers from Vancouver to Mexico City. Here is every host city, stadium, and what to expect.
🇺🇸 United States (11 Stadiums)
🇨🇦 Canada (2 Stadiums)
🇲🇽 Mexico (3 Stadiums)
Travel & Climate Impact on Teams
Altitude Matters. Mexico City (2,200m) and Guadalajara (1,566m) present a real challenge. The ball flies differently at altitude — faster, with less curve. Teams that train at sea level and fly into Mexico City for a match have a measurable disadvantage. Our model applies a 3-5% win probability penalty for sea-level teams playing altitude matches without adequate acclimatization.
Temperature Range. Miami and Houston in late June can hit 35°C with 80% humidity. Seattle and Vancouver will be 18-22°C. Teams that play group matches in cool climates and then travel to a humid knockout match face an adjustment — the model tracks temperature differential as a minor performance variable.
Travel Distance Is Real. A team based in Vancouver for the group stage could travel to Miami for the Round of 32 — a 5,500 km journey across 3 time zones. Cumulative travel distance correlates with reduced performance in the knockout stage (r = -0.12 in our backtest).
